Here's a question for you, then. I downloaded the "black" skin, which ended up being more grey, but... it changed the order of the items on the Today screen. In particular, the clock is at the bottom instead of the top. Is there a way to move it back? I kinda liked it at the top, esp since if I have multiple appointments it pushes the button bar off the bottom of the screen.

yeah it did go a little down hill when left.
but for you go to setting- personal-today-items in here you can change the position you want them in. i dont use the home screen to much now since ive have manillia on my phone

it is a redisgned home screen that is runs over the home screen just like the HTC home plug in . The htc fuse and the diamond both use manilla as there home screns

We have an HTC Tilt that has been losing its signal off and on. We had this same problem about a month ago, but was told that one of the 3g towers was down and that may have been the cause of the problem. The tech at the AT&T store switch the simcard and it seem'd to have fixed the problem. Until recently and now we are have the same singal issuses again.

Is there some new firmware or and update of some kind that will help with these signal drop problems?

I have trying your solution... followed it to the letter... and it looks like it has been updated.

The starting splash screen now says,

R 1.71.09.01
G 25.75.40.02
D 1.62.00.00
eMo

However... after the splash screen finishes the screen simply goes Black and is not active anymore. the phone itself still works, all of the files are still there and it recieves incoming and outgoing calls, but it can not be activated... no audio can be heard or sent through the call.

Looks like the phone is a brick now since I dont seem to have a way to start up the Jump app.

Don't need to run any other appliactions to get this to work.
I think what happen is that the radio isn't compatiable with your rom, which has happen to me alot

By some miracle, I actually managed to get the Tilt back to its original state, lol. Up until now I was a complete flashing noob, but now I understand better the actual process. However I get lost in the whole compatiblity thing. I have read many lists of Roms and Radios and still not very sure on which to use.

I got it.
I see that you have WM6.0
You might want to upgrade to WM6.1

only download the rom update it should be the 3rd from the bottom.

it should have a radio. if not you should be able to use any radio rfrom the radio thread i gave you for WM6.1

I had a eureka moment and it all finally clicked, hehehe...
I see where I got lost, but now its all good. I was able to update to Duttys Diamond Rom Ruu Signed 5.2.1588 1.65.16.25 V1 and with it WM6.1 and a new radio to boot. Everything seems to work perfectly now. Not sure if its the latest or best rom to have, but it works better then ever.

Well it is a good rom i used it for a while until i started making my own. But that what we do is help each other

ok to start i turned off my tilt and when i went to turn it back on it didn't turn on. first thing i thought battery but i went to the att store and they tried another battery but no luck. so i was going to do a warranty but i had dutty's v2 cube on it and tried to put an att rom on but since couldn't it on, i couldn't do it. so i thought, that was my first mistake, and use frankenkaiser even if i wasn't the same radio and i got part way thru , past the part where you erase everything. so now i don't know what to do at this point.

The frankenkraiser is what F***ed your tilt just keep trying to flah the stock rom off of HTC's site

i can't flash anything. activesync doesn't recognize my phone and i've tried duttys and tried a hard spl but nothing worked. all it kept saying was device not connected.

Question: Is your Tilt charging properly? I suspect that you may have a bad mini-USB port on your Tilt (maybe inadvertantly stuck the stylus in, missing the reset port?).

i should have been more detailed...my computer can tell when it is plugged in(at least windows sees a device, not the phone per say) but the rom flashing program and active sync don't see it. as far as charging the yellow light doesn't come on when plugged in. but when i went to the store they supposingly put a charged battery in and it still would not charge.

try putting it in the tricolor bootloader by pressing the camera, power and putting the stylus in the reset hole

you prob need to look up some info on xda site to flash via sd card. You should be able to recover it that way. Hope that helps.

just an update...i got a response that if i can't turn it on the warranty dept can't tell i had custom rom. and that it sounds like a hardware problem. hardware problem = warranty repair.

maybe because of where u live or the weather might have to do something with it. try updating to winmo 6.1 if u havent done so. that might just do the trick.

I just got my tilt on Christmas Eve. What a present. Now I am kind of struggling to set it up based on the info in teh provided manuals. I just discovered this forum and so , since you aske for any questions , here it goes.

1 I attempted to set up voice command. First problem- directions say assign a button to voice cd. I selected button 6 , previously assigned to Jewel quest2 by default(?) The problem is I can not find button 6. I've tried every button teh phone but none will launch the VC prompt or Jewel Quest for that matter. No where in the manual is button 6 identified.

Item two attempted to set up more than one e-mail account. System seems to limit to one. Is this correct? If not, what is the process for setting up the others.

Lastly, Tried to set up corp. e-mail via self service/ Xspress Mail. No go. I do not have domain but do have workgroup. What is teh difference?

button 6 is the PTT button if you hold it.

Now for your work email just go to messages and then go to set up email it should be there. easy to set up that way

No it don't matter itf you have the ATT or TYNT2
for flashing there is really nothing you can do to take precautions on not bricking your phone.
And gettting it ready for flashing is to go to my Hardspl thread and go from there.
A custom rom is a rom that someone other than the company you bought it from made it.
When flashing remember to folly all the steps to the tee.
I have gone through a couple of phones buy not doing that

I've never had a need to change my rom or radio. Especially if you're not even using a cooked rom. I think a lot of that was back in the day to fix all the crap issues with wm6.0 but all the phones ship with 6.1 now. If you're not trying to add a specific feature or fix a specific problem that only a rom flash can achieve, I wouldn't do it just to say you have.

I usually just DL them via the browser on the phone so they're already on there. But if you've got them on the computer instead, just sync them (via wire, bluetooth, whatever). I use ActiveSync. Then the mobile device will show up on your computer as a drive you can browse to. The rest is rather easy.

For a project I am working on, I need to buy a new Tilt ASAP. Is anyone still selling them new - online, in-store, or otherwise? They are gone off of AT&T's website. Amazon has them but you have to buy a data plan which I don't need (already have one). Any ideas? Thanks.

I now have the latest hyperdragon with manilla soooo it has alot of freakin bugs but all of a sudden active sync will not sync with my phone even after uninstalling and reinstalling it so I cant put in any fixes!!!! Try this go to Start > settings > connections > usb to PC.
Now from there try uncecking Enable Advance Network Connections,Do a soft reset. also plug it in to the computer and give it a minute. if nothing helps unplug then plug it back in.
I had this problem with it when i had that ROM


Also does your computer reconized a device connect as a modem, if check your firewall settings

all of that and it still isnt syncing and I dont know how to make my sd card to fat32 so I can flash from my memory card

It should already be Fat32. but if it isn't you can use a computer and to format it.

Does your phone charge when it is pluged into the computer

I thought voice command was fixed with the issuing of WM6.1. My Tilt is running 6.1 and I use Voice Command all day. In fact it is one of the most used features. Yesterday , for no apparent reason, it ceased to function, at least in part. When the voice command key is pressed the little mic appears but there is no audio tone. There is also no audio voice confirmation and if I am using it to dial a contact it will take me to the contact record but not dial the number. I tried a soft reset but that did not help.

I spent about an hour with ATT support today and they were no help. They suggested I call MS or return the phone. This is already my 2nd as the first one had other issues and I returned it within the first 30 days. I wasted the rest of my day trying to get help out of Microsoft. Any suggestions? I really need to fix this or return the phone within the next week. I love this phone but can not live with continual problems.

START-SETTINGS-VOICE COMMAND-SELECT PHONE, THEN OPTIONS, SELECT THE ONES YOU WANT, THEN-OK, THEN SELECT NOTIFICATIONS, AND SELECT WHAT YOU WANT.

MAKE SURE THAT "PHONE" IS SELECTED!!

Speaking of radio issues, while we were traveling, it sorta sucked that the reception for wifi was not good in some areas (El Paso, Sherwood
Arkansas) and excellent in others. In El Paso and Arkansas I have been able to use my Wireless on my laptop but NOT connect with the Tilt, even outside my RV!! I think that it would be too much to try to find a good radio for every area I travel to. I am in an HSDPA area now and with the unlimited data plan I am fine, but IF I wanted to use my wifi.......

What do you know about the administrator/moderator? There is a bunch of junk showing up here again, and not being deleted.

Thanks for the encourage ment. I have had my tilt for about a year and i want to start using it like it was meant to be. I just downloaded skyfire which is allowing me to get into some websites with passwords which I have been trying to do for a while. but the most annoying thing is the stupid back light. I have downloaded the tweeks and the advanced config and it is still not staying on. I go back in the settings and it is still where i set it 5 min. but it shuts off in 10 seconds. I also have to press the start button 2x in order to turn the screen on. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Harry haven't heard from or seen the owner/ admin on here lately. but for the radio i go for a good radio that works in my office which is in the middle of nowhere.

But you must travel alot.

Click on the Turn off backlight if device is not used make sure it is unchecked

hey how ya doing? i guess im gonna take advantage of your knowledge. I bought the tili/kaiser, whatever you want to call it for my dad for fathers day and i unlocked it to work on tmobile. i had no problem what so ever at hooking my touch pro on sprint, but i am having issues with my dads phone. all i basically need is to get a gps program, most preferabbly telenav, and opera working on the phone, and suggestions or ideas on where to look woul be appreciated, thanks for your time

You can get Opera from the Opera website...They have a free version and a paid version....I use Opera 8.65 (the paid version) and you can also get Opera Mini for free.

For GPS....TeleNav is a paid app thru AT&T. Why don't you just download Google maps for mobile (m.google.com) which can be downloaded directly to your device. You can also get Livesearch...which is a GPS program similar to Google Maps. I use both. Also download GPS TEST (do a google search) as it will speed up starting GPS programs.

i got one for all of yall i have a at&t tilt works perfectly but last last night my backlight just stoped lighting up my screen everything eles is fine i can go in a dark room with a flash lite just to use it and it been itin my ass i got it from a friend that said it keep turn off dumb ass didn,t have the back and the batt wasn,t staying in there good so am like jackpot now this :mad: some any help would be sweet and yeah i got the brightness turned all the way up
