I thought it was about time I shared my secrets. I've thoroughly tested every app. What doesn't work well, I don't post or use. Most if not all are cab files so installing them is a snap. Some applications do require a second program for them to run, thus it would be more convienient if you were to install them first. The two files are Adobe Flash 7, and the .NET 3.5 Framwork...

Flash 7: http://download.cnet.com/Adobe-Flash-Player-7-for-Pocket-PC/3000-2356_4-10724418.html?cdlPid=10724417
.NET 3.5: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E3821449-3C6B-42F1-9FD9-0041345B3385&displaylang=en

Unfortunately the cab file is somewhat hard to find for the .net framework. The link I've inlcuded is from Microsoft and is installed from your PC. If all else fails a quick internet search for ".net compact framework cab" should get a result. Make sure you install both of these programs TO THE DEVICE.

Note...the list isn't in any order, I like them all!

FlashLIGHT
This is one of my favorite programs. It's called FlashLIGHT. It's a flash application (amusing isn't it?). It's an .exe file you copy into your programs folder under My Device>Windows>Start Menu>Programs. Then it will appear in your programs list. It's a really nice app with some really neat features...including...THE LIGHTSABER. Yes, for once, a lightsaber app for a phone without a motion sensor.

S2U2 (Slide to Unlock 2) and S2V (Slide to View)
Here's one that was just updated recently. I really like this one just because it's really easy to use. It has full screen caller ID, SMS, MMS, and Email notifications. I would recommend you install it to the device.

The other app that also works with S2U2 is S2V, it's a really nice photo viewer that you can also use to set the background to the today screen, contacts, and the background for portrait and landscape mode in S2U2.

More information and the links to download are at the developer's site...

Batti 2.4

This plugin is really handy. It's a battery gauge that sits at the top of the taskbar and shows graphically how much battery is left. There are like one or two other apps similar to this but this one is very customizeable. Install this one to the device.

HTC Home Customizer
This one is kind of nice just for a change of pace. If you're like me, you got bored looking at the same plugin. Install to the device.

StopWatch 2.2
Very nice chronograph app. Haptic feedback (vibrates when you tap the buttons), split, and alarms. You can install this to the storage card.

Pencil Box
This one is really nice. This is the free version, and as you will find out, you can't save your masterpieces. I have the full version and if you're into sketching like me, it's well worth the $13. You can install this to the storage card.

Free Version: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-pencil-box.html
Full Version: Just google "pencil box deluxe" on handango.com

Kaiser Tweak
This is a MUST for any Kaiser owner. Enable HSDPA, turn off that extremely annoying startup sound, make the keyboard faster, and much more! Make sure you do a soft reset after changing any settigns. Install this to the device.

Note: I am assuming you're running the 6.1 upgrade and no custom ROMs or anything, likewise I am not resposible for anything that should happen to the phone. If there's a problem, contact the developer of the application. :)

Well I think that about does it.

Signing off,

Some of your links appear to be broken. I am running most of them, but....anyway, the KAISER TWEAK link is broke, as are a few others. I think everyone should run the KAISER TWEAK.

I am running Jorrit Jongma version 0.41 (Dec 9, 2007) Have not seen a better one.

Ah, sorry. I didn't remember to check all of them when I posted. I fixed all of the links...they all work at the moment.

Oh I was using your version of kaiser tweak but the one I've posted I guess is the newer version of that, it looks exactly the same but it has more tweaks and it's a cab file. One of the new tweaks that I like is the sent notification. Now you can choose between differerent stuff like just show the icon, icon and vibrate, icon and sound, etc.

The cab file you referenced is the one I have installed. When you open Kaiser Tweak and click on ABOUT, what does it read?

Mine says VERSION 0.41 - December 9, 2007) and at the bottom of the screen it reads: KAISER (5.2.19214)

the cab file running on my tilt is:
KaiserTweak-nikagl-20080613-1711b

Hmm...I just checked and it's the same version. I was thinking you had the older version that you can find on the HTCwiki.com Tilt page. My mistake!

Hi all,
I am having a conflict issue running S2U2(SV2 installed as well) along with the HTC HC. I have the full screen caller ID option set, but every time that I receive a phone call, I can not answer the phone once the contact picture and onscreen prompt to either answer or "send the call to voice mail" appear. When I try to tap the answer button, the screen is unresponsive and sometimes flickers between the HTC HC dial pad and the S2U2 Full screen caller ID. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? If not, could you recommend another program that has the full screen caller ID option that is compatible with the Tilt

Thank you.
~Matt

Hi, sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulty. Now I am assuming of course you are on the AT&T Tilt. Your problem sounds like a conflict of some sort. What I'm not quite understanding from your description is you're saying the HTC Home Customizer has a dial pad? Are you referring to the default dial pad? Also, I'm not aware of a button that sends the call to voicemail. If you could give me more specifics on what's going on that would be great.

As for a secondary option, there is one that I'm using currently and I really like. It's called PhoneEx (Phone Extension). It does cost $24.95, but you can download a trial for a few days to see how you like it.

Here's the link: http://www.iconsoft.com/?language=en

The interface is absolutely beautiful. It (can) default to it's dial pad, contacts, and received/outgoing calls. You can choose what it defaults to, but don't worry about it deleting or overwriting anything, it just installs an application. For instance, you can set it to show the dial pad, contacts list, etc. for when you press the green answer button. Or what the contacts tab on the home screen opens up to. Everything is REALLY finger friendly. The contact manager is absolutely great, you can set full resolution avatar pictures, full length sound files for ringtones, and even create groups.

The HTC Home Customizer shouldn't be giving you any problems. I think S2U2 may be doing something weird though. Make sure you have the latest version. If you do decide to install the PhoneEx app, turn off the full screen caller ID for S2U2.

Hope it helps and feel free to ask anything else,

Thank you for the follow up.

You are correct, I am using the Tilt. My apologies for the confusion in regards to the dialer. I am using the Equinoxe Wizard reTOUCHed Dialer. I think that is where the conflict might be. The onscreen buttons that I am referring to are the ANSWER and IGNORE buttons that appear along with the full screen pic of the person who is calling me. Usually (but curiously not always) what happens is a person would call me, their image would popup in the screen, and if I didn’t hit the answer button by the first ring, the screen would either lock up or flicker between the dial pad and the caller’s picture. Either way, I would not be able to answer the phone call.

That's quite interesting. I did use the Wizard reTOUCHed dialer a while back but dropped it due to it being unresponsive and/or conflicting. So I think your assumptions are correct. I have tried other dialers, several of which look really nice and have big buttons, but usually they were lacking very standard features such as when you start entering numbers, it would give you a list of contacts that have those numbers/letters. I've been using that PhoneEx for over a month and I have had absolutely no problems with it ever. But again, I find it odd that you would have such problems with it locking up.

What might help is to look at the user manual for S2U2 (http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/ go to the link that says "settings description", it's an Excel file.) and there should be several settings for incoming calls.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
